This programme is for 12-16 year olds who are not attending a mainstream secondary school. Students can be referred to this programme from a local secondary school, or the young person and their whanau can make a self-referral. All referrals must be approved by the region’s AE coordinator (who is employed by Lytton High School) before they can be confirmed. Alternative Education students are mixed across our Level 1 and classes and work towards the NZ Certificate in Foundation Skills Level 1, or they are supported to do an individual programme designed by Matapuna. Students can enrol in Te Aho o Te Kura Pounamu (the NZ Correspondence School) if they wish, and complete work with the support and guidance of their Tutor. |
